In today's world, when we get pissed off or think something is fucked up, what do we do?

We tweet about it.

“Joe Biden is awful. We need Trump back.”

“Kids should not have to wear masks in school.”

“The younger generation doesn’t know how to shake a hand and look someone in the eye.”

But what happens after that? Well, nothing needs to be done after that. Right? We vocalized our opinion on social media so our work is done. If we talk about it on social media we are on the right side of history. Obviously!

Venting our frustrations on social media does little to nothing. It doesn't change the president. It doesn’t take the mask off the kid's face. And it sure as hell doesn’t solve the phone addictions that most of our younger generation have.

I can complain about the kids having to wear masks on social media, but is a social post really going to do anything to solve the problem?

Instead, could I go down to the school board meeting? Or how about calling my brother to talk about taking my niece out of public schools. Could I do that??

I’m not saying I or anyone else has to change the entire world, but we use social media as a pretend way to feel like we are making a difference.

We have to do is put in the work to make a real change. We have to get uncomfortable and have real conversations about problems in the world, instead of hiding behind a phone and tweeting about it.

Let’s stop tweeting and start doing.
